How text to STL works here

Your words go through two AI steps on our own graphics card. First the AI draws one object from your description: whole, centred, on a plain background. Then the 3D engine builds the full shape from that drawing, including the sides the drawing does not show. For printing it removes small loose bits, closes holes, stands the model upright with its base on the build plate and scales it to 100 mm. It takes about two to three minutes.

What prints well, and what doesn't

• Prints well: chunky, solid objects such as figurines, vases, planters, chess pieces, toys, mugs and cartoon animals.
• Prints well: short descriptions that say what the shape is, like “a round planter pot” or “a small owl figurine”.
• One object only. Describe a scene or several things and the AI usually picks one of them; the rest is dropped.
• Hard: thin or delicate parts such as wire, antennas, hair, leaves and very thin walls. They can come out too thin to print.
• No exact parts. The AI makes its own version, not the real product, and no exact measurements. It is not a CAD tool for fitting parts. Name a brand or ask for words and it may add a logo or lettering, but not an exact copy.
• The back is a guess. The sides the drawing does not show are estimated, so a detailed back comes out plainer than the front.
• Refused: real, living people, firearms, gore and adult content.

What's in the STL

• Size: 100 mm on the longest side, in millimetres. Scale it up or down in your slicer.
• Upright: z points up and the model sits on z = 0, so it lands flat on the build plate.
• Repaired: small loose fragments removed and holes closed. The page tells you whether the mesh came out fully closed (watertight); if not, your slicer can usually repair it.
• Shape only: an STL has no colours. The GLB and OBJ from the same run keep the colours.
• All files are marked as AI-generated inside the file and in the file name.

Text to STL free: the limits

A failed attempt or a refused description does not count. No watermark on any tier. Your description and the model are deleted after 45 minutes.

How to turn text into an STL

1. Type one object in the box above, in a few words.
2. Wait two to three minutes while the AI draws it and builds the 3D shape.
3. Rotate the model to check it.
4. Download the STL and open it in your slicer.
